Miep Gies 'Herinneringen aan Anne Frank' 1987 - some annotations - read Description
Here is to the scholars who asked - a little contribution to this document, to provide some indicative means of non-ML or mechanical interpretation, timed to the words heard in Dutch spoken language - -
to Mr. Michael Zukerman:
"I think you are quite correct, Mr. Zukerman , this document feels a bit orphaned as it's a part of - Dutch Cultural Heritage (and I am certainly not) -- from what I can tell , this document has been tagged being part of the JWH archive/ ( the initiative of Mr. S.Spielberg e.c - if this is true: I wouldn't think about sending him the bill for translations of this work !! - ) - But there is more to the translation , I tried to point that out by providing some interpretation. (People != Mensen ) - when I heard her (Mrs Gies) talk about "Mensen" , this made me aware of something: that I should not even TRY translating this to 'people' because that would sound like "Folks". Michael : think "Unter" ... Also "Secret Annexe " it's a house attached to a house , or, someone split a house in two, "Onderduiken" , " when one is desperate to seek refuge it's a question of survival with stress ... I would protest against literal translation of the word "Mensen" as this was a fundamental word that the "SS" "Sciences" abused to contrast and suggest diversity of Humans. " - This is for you Micheal.
