This series will show you how to model, UV, texture and rig a character in Blender for use in UE4 & Unity.

In this first video we will discuss the steps of the project and setup our scene so its scale/frame rate/etc are correct for UE4/Unity import.

This first video will show how to set the scale and settings in Blender to ideal values that will easily let you import objects into UE4 and Unity without bone size issues,etc...

The main adjustments are:
-set units to metric
-set scale to 0.01 (1 blender unity = 1 cm in UE4)
-frame rate to 30 fps

It will also show you how to create morph targets and export a skeletal character model with morph target & bone animation (separate & combined) from Blender to Unreal Engine 4 and Unity.

NOTE* - This character creation process in Blender results in models & animations that can be used in both UE4 and Unity interchangeably without any modification.

This was one of the main goals of this series. Build your character once and import it into both engines with no trouble (hopefully).

This series attempts to be comprehensive starting from the complete basics of scene setup and concludes with a in-engine character ready to be programmed in both UE4 and Unity.

---Tutorial Series Outline:---
0. Setup Project
1. Model Character
2. Model Hands
2. UV Unwrap
3. Texture
4. Rig Character + Fix Issues
5. Create Morph Targets (also know as blend shapes in Blender)
6. Create animation with bone animation + morph target animation combined and bring it into UE4/Unity)

7. Create independent morph target animation & bone animation
8. Combine the morph/bone animations in engine. This allows for the body movement & facial animation to be controlled separately.

---Tutorial Compatibility Information:---
Note* - If you are using different versions of the software listed below, I can't promise this tutorial will work.
Blender 2.77 or 2.77a is required for tutorial to work. Blender 2.77b may also work but this is untested.

Blender : 2.77a (or 2.77) REQUIRED!
Unity : 5.3.6
UE4 : 4.12.5
OS : Windows 10

Thanks for watching and hope this tutorial series is helpful.
