I composed this song in college. It is for all those out there who have loved and lost. Music has the power to move us in ways other cannot understand. As an amateur musician, I love writing songs and sharing with the world. I’ve always wanted a way to share my music with others and I’m very grateful YouTube has provided that way.
Please listen, share, comment your thoughts, and enjoy a different side of my life from back when I was part of something Mostly Rhetorical.
Lyrics:
Don’t bother writing that letter that you wrote before.
I’ve still got a copy of it hidden in my drawer.
And if you really care, you’ll come on over.
You could tell it to my face.
You could tell it to my face.
There’s nothing to do but notice all the things I missed before.
They all reach out to grab me as I open up the door.
You can stop with all the lines, the lies. Good bye. I don’t love you anymore.
You’ve changed your mind a million times before,
And I each time seem to love you more.
I could tell you I care. I could tell you I’m scared.
But I know you’re not listening.
I’ve been there before so what is one more time?
So why is it so confusing to talk outside the phone?
I gaze into your eyes. I see a heart of stone.
I’ve lost my concentration. My mind is drifting.
I’m trying to get it back, but did you know that I’m trying to get you back?
You’ve changed your mind a million times before,
And I each time seem to love you more.
I could tell you I care. I could tell you I’m scared.
But I know you’re not listening.
I’ve been there before so what is one more time?
I like breathing, so stop making me hold my breath.
You can stop with all your lines, your lies, but I will still love you like before!
You’ve changed your mind a million times before,
And I each time seem to love you more.
I could tell you I care. I could tell you I’m scared.
But I know you’re not listening.
I’ve been there before so what is one more time.
One more time.
One more time.
One more…
Don’t bother writing that letter that you wrote before.
I’ve still got a copy of it hidden in my drawer.
And if you really care, you’ll come on over.
You could tell it to my face.
Please tell it to my face.
I’ll be waiting here.
