*Thar be spoilers ahead! Beware!*
*Also, all hail to the brilliant and wonderful Seduff for helping me with clip ideas to match the audio I already had. Thank you SO much. You've been an inspiration.*
I seriously can't believe how fast I managed this video. I've been struggling for ages on a few projects, but this one just flew out of me once I figured out how to accomplish what was in my head.
Now, let me explain that bit of dialogue in the middle with the Eighth Doctor and Charley.
You see, Waters of Mars isn't the first time he's decided to save someone that was fated to die, and I wanted to show that. In the Big Finish audio stories for the Eighth Doctor, he saves a girl named Charlotte (Charley to her friends) from dying in the crash of the airship R101 in France in 1930. Such an action results in a tearing of the Web of Time. This bit is from when Charley was begging the Doctor to kill her so that Time could be put right, but he simply couldn't, and things went from bad to worse. I know most people haven't listened to the Big Finish DW audio stories, but I hope that I at least somewhat managed to accomplish showing what I had intended without people needing to know the full story.
Dialogue:
ADELAIDE: Little people?? What, like Mia and Yuri? Who decides they're so unimportant? You?
TEN: I've gone too far...
ROSE: What about you, Doctor? What the hell are you changing into?
DONNA: Find someone.
TEN: I don't need anyone.
DONNA: Yes you do. 'Cause sometimes, I think you need someone to stop you.
CHARLEY: This is about me, isn't it? The break in the Web of Time, caused by me surviving the crash of the R101...Should have stayed at home that day, but I didn't. And, that's that.
EIGHT: But what if it isn't? What if it doesn't have to be like that?
CHARLEY: But it is like that!
CHARLEY: Oh, Doctor, please, do it! Before it's too late.
EIGHT: Charley, I can't! You're my friend...and I love you. I can't look you in the eye and shoot you, no matter what.
CHARLEY: Doctor, I love you too. And this is no way to say goodbye, but...please! Please!
CHARLEY: Oh, what's wrong with you?? You've saved the universe before, so do it again, the only way how!
JOAN: Answer me this question, that's all. If the Doctor had never visited us. If he had never chosen this place...on a whim...would anybody have died?
ADELAIDE: I don't care who you are! The Time Lord victorious is *wrong*!
