Exploring Families of Functions Using Sliders
This video shows you how to graph parent functions and then using sliders, explore how different coefficients and forms of the equation impact the parent function. Students will be able to see, conjecture, and test different coefficient and constant values to deepen their understanding of what a function will look like, compared to the parent function, and get a sense of the 'family of functions'. Linear and quadratic functions are explored in this video, but the same process can be used for any type of function.
