PG Stølen & Tone Silvia Holen "Don't give up just yet" from the album "You Ask Me How Much I Love You "(2021). Some experience a wall that will NOT move, and a darkness that consumes both spirit, soul and body with a massive force. My wonderful duet partner, Tone Silvia Holen, is there now.
For approx. 2 and a half years ago, she experienced every parent's greatest sorrow: Her beautiful, beloved daughter Isabel died suddenly, without warning. In 2021, before Tone's grief, she and I recorded a duet called "Don't give up just yet". It reminds us that there are new opportunities through grief, loss and suffering. It is certainly not easy to see, and we humans often feel COMPLETELY helpless. In a world where "the highest mountain and the deepest valley live side by side". Our children are our "heart", and this infinite love then lays the foundation for an infinite sorrow. I still believe that the call in the above song text still applies. By facing the grief, being there for each other...and resting in God's strong arms and eternal love, is perhaps the seed for the grief not to "bury" us completely. The paradox is that loss and sorrow are the price of love. I chatted with Tone recently and I've been given permission to post this video of our song. It is followed by the VERY best encouraging thoughts for her. A brilliant and INFINITELY lovable mother to Isabel...and with a singing voice that bubbles with the most beautiful sound, feeling and melody!
