Dictation for 6th grade: "Hot Midday" with assessment
Together we'll write a Russian dictation for sixth grade. The text (99 words) is based on Sergei Aksakov's short story "Hot Midday." The illustration is V.D. Polenov's painting "Overgrown Pond." ■

After checking your dictation, you can rate your literacy.
A grade of "5" is awarded for error-free work, as well as for one minor spelling or punctuation error.
A grade of "4" is awarded for a dictation containing two spelling errors and three punctuation errors / four punctuation errors but no spelling errors. A grade of "4" may be awarded for three spelling errors, if some of them are of the same type.
A grade of "3" is awarded for a dictation containing four spelling errors and four punctuation errors / three spelling errors and five punctuation errors / seven punctuation errors but no spelling errors. A grade of "3" may also be awarded for six spelling errors and six punctuation errors, if some of them are of the same type and not serious.
A grade of "2" is awarded for a dictation containing up to 9 spelling errors and 10 punctuation errors / 7 spelling errors and 12 punctuation errors / 5 spelling errors and 15 punctuation errors / 10 spelling errors and 9 punctuation errors.
When evaluating a dictation, the following spelling and punctuation errors are corrected but not taken into account:
1) in word hyphenation;
2) in rules not included in the school curriculum;
3) in rules not yet covered;
4) in words with unchecked spellings for which no special work has been done;
5) in the rendering of the author's punctuation.
Typos and misspellings that distort the sound of a word are corrected, but not taken into account, for example: "рапотаят" (instead of "работо" [works]), "дулпо" (instead of "дуполь" [duplo]), "мемля" (instead of "зема" [earth]).
