time to write about this shit
i really don't know what to say about torra, apart from the fact that my experience made this tower one of, if not the WORST tower grinds that i've ever done.
i started this back in 2022 around 3 months after my ToIM completion, as i wanted to do my first cata and (at the time) torra seemed like a good choice for the lack of really challenging gameplay, the difficulty instead coming from the sheer length and punishment of the outside, how fucking wrong i was bro
my grind in 2022 would last around 4 months before i got so demotivated after failing the outside over 40 times at this point, that i decided to quit actively playing obbies in general for the foreseeable future.
in 2023 i did occasionally hop in and try it out some more, racking up around 10 more fails including runs i didn't record, but overall i was done with obbies from that point.
but, in july, i decided to come back to torra due to my recent interest in obbies again, as well as finishing what i started 2 years ago
once again though, i found myself making stupid mistakes everytime i got to the outside, leading to around 50 more outside fails throughout the 2024 grind, making me start to lose hope once again.
my luck did finally turn around however, after my worst fail (1 jump before black) and a holiday, i decided to come back with a refreshed mind, and only 1 day after my holiday, i got the run that i can now say is my completion
i was thinking of cutting out my reaction cause i thought it was kinda cringe, but i decided to keep it in to show how god damn happy i was that this weight was finally lifted off my shoulders, it's the reaction to completing a journey you started 2 years ago
(it's still cringe though lmao)
i had one hell of a ride in this tower, this and ToIM single-handedly made me lose interest in obbies for more than a year, but now that i'm back, it's time for me to push my difficulty ceiling to the limit, and see how far i can actually go, the issue is i don't know what to grind next, i'll most likely be streaming GCoGDC wr attempts, but i don't plan on beating that anytime soon, so in the meantime, i have to find another thing to grind.
perhaps S.T.O.N.E or Doomsday Tower, they've both peaked my interest recently, we'll see.
