Geochang 4th Gamaksan Flower & Star Tour/Asta Chrysanthemum Festival
Geochang County, South Gyeongsang Province, held the opening ceremony for the 4th Gamaksan Flower & Star Tour (2024) on September 20th at the Gamaksan Byeolbaram Hill (San 57, Deoksan-ri, Sinwon-myeon).
A purple asta flower field has been created on the 900-meter-high summit of Gamaksan, offering a spectacular view and a spectacular display of blooming flowers. A temporary area was opened on September 13th prior to the official opening, attracting a large crowd of tourists seeking to see the purple asta chrysanthemums during the Chuseok holiday.
Gamaksan Flower & Star Tour was selected as one of the top 9 hottest mountains nationwide by Forbes Korea in 2022. Last year, it attracted 210,000 visitors, making it a leading tourist destination in Geochang. This year, the warm weather brought early blooming, resulting in a more abundant flower display and a variety of events.
