How did a ZeroWaste KIMONO Stylist win the award for best mobile film at the 2017 AT&T Create-a-thon?
I, Yukiko Sato, received an email regarding AT&T Create-a-thon a few weeks prior to the competition. I knew I would win; I shared the stage with a writer I met at the Create-a-thon, a competition that challenges you to find your film crew to produce a short film over a single weekend.
Then, my thoughts became reality
LeVera, the writer and actress I met only 36 hours before winning the award at the AT&T create-a-thon and we won! LeVera and I stood on the stage to claim our prize - just as I had imagined.
We happened to live within walking distance. In one evening, we agreed on our script. So when other teams were still in discussion, we shot our video in daylight. Shooting the film went smoothly. I edited the film that evening without any issue. The only issue - and it was a big one- was that the AT&T moderator forgot to show our short story film at the screening. Once we corrected that problem, our video got everyone's attention.
