The Evolution of Gangstar (2009–2017) | Gameloft’s GTA for Mobile
Originally launched as Gameloft’s answer to Grand Theft Auto, the Gangstar series brought open-world crime sandbox gameplay to mobile platforms well before most competitors. Known for their mix of driving, shooting, and city-based missions, these games grew in scope with each new release.
The series made its first leap into full 3D in 2009 with Gangstar: West Coast Hustle, and continued evolving through the years with improved visuals, larger worlds, and deeper mechanics. This video takes a look at the core entries released between 2009 and 2017, showcasing the first 5-10 minutes of the game to demonstrate the evolution in its visuals, gameplay and presentation.
