Released in 2012 for iOS and Android, Vector is a fast-paced parkour platformer developed by Nekki. Inspired by games like Mirror’s Edge, it puts players in the shoes of a fugitive on the run, sprinting across rooftops and vaulting over obstacles in a dystopian world where freedom is a distant dream.
The game features fluid, motion-captured animations that make every wall-run, flip, and vault feel incredibly smooth. With intuitive swipe-based controls, players must time their jumps and slides perfectly to escape the relentless "Hunter" pursuing them. The levels are designed to challenge reflexes while rewarding skillful execution, making for an exhilarating experience.
While Vector keeps things simple with its silhouette art style and minimalist story, its tight mechanics and addictive gameplay helped it stand out in the endless runner and platformer genres. The game later received a sequel, Vector 2, which introduced procedural levels and new mechanics but didn’t quite capture the same magic as the original.
