Lizard Island Research Station - 50th Anniversary
This year we're celebrating the AM’s Lizard Island Research Station’s (LIRS) 50th Anniversary 🐠
LIRS was established in 1973 by former AM Director, Frank Talbot and in the 50 years since has flourished into one of the world’s leading research stations.
Located up on the beautiful Great Barrier Reef, LIRS plays a critical role in helping scientists from around the world research and better understand the complex ecosystem of the reef below.
