Gwent | Nilfgaard | Double Cross Shupe Calveit Ale feat. Serrit, Auckes & Letho
Nilfgaard decks with Witchers Trio: Serrit, Auckes and Letho weren't competitive since early Homecoming days. November 2024 Gwent Balance Patch double buffed the Trio, after which the statline became really promising.
The more I look into Trio the more I see its uniqueness at deckbuilding level. It isn't 'brainless, dull control package'. It is a helper tool for decks having other win-conditions, stable only in carefully built decks.
Calveit decks running Trio has to be strongly polarized and preferably capable of playing for carryover in Round 3, because topdecks would be always 5 and lower provision cost cards. Note Magne Division in this deck. It isn't a R3 topdeck card. It is a tool to draw extra gold in R1 after Calveit - this way finding Auckes in R2 is enabled sometimes! Because unlike other Calveit decks, here you want enough golds in hand to guarantee draws up to Auckes in R2. Moreover you would usually like to keep 2 bronzes in hand after R1 - otherwise there is no mulligan targets and you need to throw away golds to find Auckes.
Tell me now there is nothing interesting about Trio ;-)
