"Window satire GROWTH" (okna rosta), a series of posters created in 1919-1921 Soviet poets and artists who worked in the Russian Telegraph Agency (ROSTA). "Okna rosta" — a specific form of mass agitational art that emerged during the Civil war and intervention (1918-1920).
Satirical posters, done in a sharp and accessible style, equipped with concise verses, denounced the enemies of the young Soviet Republic. Except for the first, hand-drawn posters were made and copied using a stencil to 150 copies, and then exhibited in the display cases in the capital and other cities — usually in an empty deli stores. In "Windows of GROWTH" were widely used traditions of the lubok and of resnica. Drawing technique in "Windows of GROWTH" differed accented simplicity and conciseness used visual means (paint in 2-3 colors, expressiveness of silhouettes).The first "Window of GROWTH" was performed in October 1919 by M. M. Cheremnykh. Subsequently he was joined by Vladimir Mayakovsky, create pictures, and signatures, and D. S. Moore, I. A. Malyutin, A. M., Nurnberg, M. D. Volpin, p. P. Sokolov-Skal, B. N. Timofeev, V. V. Khvostenko and other Similar "Windows" were also issued in Petrograd (L. G. Brodaty, B. V. Lebedev, A. A. Radaki, etc.), in Ukraine (B. E. Efimov, etc.), in Saratov, Baku and other cities.
In creating the "Window GROWTH" was also attended by Kazimir Malevich, Aristarkh Lentulov, Ilya Mashkov and Kukryniksy. "Windows of GROWTH" was essential for the development of Soviet art.
