In our next installment of our Fashion Business Sustainability Guide, we’re learning about the “Green Guides” and why we want the Federal Trade Commission to update them to include sustainability and organic or natural claims. Government affairs consultant and founder of Politically in Fashion, Hilary Jochmans and Corey Page Spencer, co-founder of the transparent and traceable fashion-denim brand AMENDI, are leading the charge to ask the FTC to update these guides for the first time since 2012!

Hilary Jochmans is a government affairs consultant based in Washington DC. Before starting her boutique lobbying shop, Jochmans Consulting, she worked on Capitol Hill and in New York State Government. She is also the founder of PoliticallyInFashion, a community focused on legislative issues of importance for all people interested in fashion. The mission is to: Educate, Empower, Engage. She also serves on the advisory board of the Model Alliance.

Corey Page Spencer is co-founder of the transparent and traceable fashion-denim brand AMENDI. Described by VOUGE as “raising the sustainability bar,” AMENDI, a moniker for amendments, was created with the mission of transforming the fashion industry. Corey was previously a buyer for Manhattan Men’s Boutique ATRIUM and was the Chief Executive of Nudie Jeans North American where he oversaw wholesale and retail operations.

Catherine Schuller: Cat Schuller started her career as a model in NYC in the 70s and has been instrumental in the growth and success of many of New York’s most creative designers, models, event producers, and more. With a passion for inclusivity and sustainability, Catherine has been an instructor at FIT, LIM College, and helps organize events that promote sustainable fashion with the United Nations. Cat is the founder of Runway The Real Way, and Creative Director of hiTechMODA, two fashion show platforms showcasing emerging designers.
