Wow. I attend a therapy group and our homework this week involved trying something difficult but possible to build mastery. I decided I would make one short video entirely with SV. And... wow. This was therapeutic. You know, if you look back on my channel, this time last year, I uploaded two videos on the same day that were ways for me to express the suicidal feelings I was struggling with. A year later, I feel so confident in my salvation and my resilience - and, ironically enough, I've also faced some old demons this past week. I've matured so much spiritually, but physically, some of my old feelings of being stuck recently resurfaced.
And then I went to see Before I Fall tonight. WOW. It was a phenomenal movie, and it contained several messages I needed to hear tonight. I walked away with a much more positive mindset than I'd had all day.
I'm sharing this with you all so you can see that change is possible, but it won't all happen overnight. I've had a couple of rough days this past week, but I can tell you they were so rare, whereas this time last year, they were the norm. Until this week, the last time I really struggled badly with depression was in late November. November! Over three months ago! Please, look at my experience and have hope. We live in a fallen world, so every day of our lives is never going to be perfect. But the bad days will become more spread out and rare, and the good days will become more regular, if you stick around and do what you can to work on yourself. You matter.
Lots of love. xo
