TRANSCRIPT:
Review of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, Ep. 2:l - Part 1: Egypt:
In the first half of Ep. 2, “Passion for Life,” Indy and his family head to Africa.
There, Indy meets president Theodore Roosevelt, who’s in Africa to hunt big game…
And in the eyes of George Lucas… Teddy Roosevelt is an ASSHOLE.
But, Indy does try to help Teddy find a rare animal that Roosevelt wants to hunt.
Indy befriends a young African boy who helps him find the animal Teddy is hunting.
[DON’T READ FOR SHORT] Teddy kills the animal and when he goes to shoot more of them, Indy intercedes telling him it’s too many.
In this episode, Indy tries to balance conservation with being respectful.
It’s another example of Indy having to deal with what’s right vs. what’s acceptable in the time period.
It’s interesting, but not my favorite. I’ll give it a 6.5/10.
