Struggle with playback in DaVinci Resolve? Make sure to follow these steps and you'll be able to edit your footage on almost any computer with any hardware.

In the tutorial I am explaining how to use optimized media, as well as render cache or proxies, as some people call them. Depending on whether you're on a Mac or a PC, there'll be some differences in codecs that I'm also talking about in the video.

After I finished the video, I noticed that on a Mac you have both options (ProRes and DNxHR) unlike on a PC, where you're limited to DNxHR. If you're working solo on a Mac, then ProRes will be just fine and give you the best performance. But if you're collaborating with someone else that is using a PC, you might want to use DNxHR instead.
