My Watercolor Journey | month 3 First attempt at a portrait
In this video I used a reference photo of my daughter. Although I didn't show the drawing part... I did indeed draw it with just the reference photo (and for the seasoned illustrator, the fact that I'm a beginner, shows lol).
It was fun. Definitely a learning experience… I didn’t add the drawing part because it took so long. But… I am excited to try again in the future and see how I have improved. Lots of things that I notice that could have improved it. But that’s why it’s called practice right?! End of month 3 and I feel good about where I’m at. Lots of room for improvement. Which just means more videos, haha.

When you are just starting out you can always start with primary colors- red, yellow and blue to mix pretty much any color you want.
