Note: There is a dispute whether Brunei gave away Northern Borneo to Sulu or if Sulu invaded Northern Borneo. I realized I've might've made a mistake (or not) due to the fact that Sultan Abdul Momin still laid claim towards Northern Borneo. This is confusing as shit.
There are also claims of Brunei possessing vassal states in Kalimantan. This includes polities like Berau, Sambas, Bulungan and Banjar. The reason why it isn't included in the video is due to the fact that it is a possibility, but not a confirmed fact. This is according to writer H. R. Hughes-Hallett. It is not proven. There are no records coming from these Sultanates themselves that they were vassals of Brunei. This claim was stated in the Brunei History Centre government website but I am not going to trust government websites 100% as I have had bad experiences with government websites throughout Southeast Asia. Thank you for reading.
