Snare Drum Mixing - Simple Steps To A Great Snare Sound
This is my current favourite method for mixing snare drum. A few simple steps that will most often give you a great snare sound. As with mixing in general, the key lesson to take here is combining several tracks to get a great sound rather than try to nail everything on one single mic/track. Context is king!
The snare recorded here is a Yamaha Tour Custom maple snare drum, mixing done in Reaper.
