Very often we want to emulate the sound of analog recordings in the box, and here's my favourite way to do that currently. Nothing wrong with digital but sometimes the flat and clean interface preamps we use these days lack a bit of character.
For this video I go through my fave chain for emulating an analog recording setup, using Neve preamp/eq and console emulations as well as tape plugins. The character and saturation added from this sounds great especially on a rock mix. And I pre-mix these tracks to give me a great starting point for the later mixing process.
A longer video as well, I tried to keep cuts to a minimum. This way you can follow my thought process and decision making in near real time. :)
Try it out yourself and learn to commit to sounds early on in the process!
