【MK8DX】Big Blue [200cc]:
After 2 years, I'm out of 1:01 territory! Insane! Got this live on stream ( / whippymk ) in less than 30 minutes after a 200cc Lounge match! I really didn't think I would make the framerule to get a 1:00.983 as you can see because I was far behind the ghost, but I'm so glad that I barely made it! I was so eager to do attempts that I forgot to change my tag back lol! Anyways, hope you enjoy. I cut the reaction because it didn't flow well with the music and I didn't have time to work extensively due to sheer lack of time but in the next improvement I will definitely try to include it :)
About the run:
Section 1 -- The most improvable here. I used my shroom a little too late and had a tight angle on the SC so I brake-drifted and clipped off-road and I struggled doing the air NISC properly. I can on average save around 3 frames here.
Section 2 -- Pretty decent, but can use some work. I would like to actively hit .3XX Section 2's but at the moment I have only hit 1 of them. I'm not entirely sure how I lose most of my time on Section 2, but I think it has something to do on how you take the turn before the water stream ramp and how well your nosedive landing is from the ultra. I can on average save around 1 frame here.
Section 3 -- My best ever Section 3. Absolutely came in clutch; I didn't even think I could come back from being +.067 behind this ghost into Section 3. I'm not 100% sure where my timesave came from here, but my best guess is how I took the hairpin turn and the turn following. I would like to learn the brakeless hairpin, but I'm not sure how to approach it. I think I can also save time on the conveyors by optimizing the time I am on the green ones, but I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes. Realistically, I think I can get my Best Split Section 3 down to a 22.900.
All-in-all, my best splits are currently 566 384 933 which gives me a 1:00.883 which would give me American Record. I will be streaming attempts for Worldwide Top 10 here in the near future, so please feel free to follow either the Twitch or the Twitter to stay updated. Peace!!
