From one intern to six who are paid an hourly wage, learn how Germantown Municipal School District in TN has grown its communication internship program over the years. I’ll share how our program has become a flagship of the work-based learning course series, which aspects of the program caught the most attention of the Board, how we structure the internship, how we recruit students, where/how to find outside funding for wages, ideas for special projects & why we assign them, and my favorite lessons learned after eight years of sharing my workspace with teenage interns.
