Zpacks Duplex Tent & Freestanding Flex Kit
With my thru hikes inching ever closer I am working to get my pack weight down. I made the decision after our shakedown to switch out my tent from the Slingfin Portal 2 to the super lightweight and very popular Zpacks Duplex. This was the tent I was originally looking at when I started planning this trip. The weight of this tent is 21.2 oz. My previous tent was 2 lbs 14 oz.
In this video I will unpack my new tent and set it up for the first time, as well as a few other accessories that I purchased from Zpacks, one of which is the Duplex Freestanding Flex Kit. With this kit the Duplex becomes a freestanding tent, which is super handy in areas where it is difficult to use stakes. It also allows the tent to be set up without trekking poles.
