Greetings folks and friends! If you follow me on twitter you likely saw a recent tweet from me that I'm working on something. My new years resolution was to finally make good on a lifelong dream I've had to make games. Project Firstborn, which is just a working title for now, is aimed to be my very first game. I'm not really experienced in this but I hope what I'm working on is interesting enough to everyone that they'll want to join me on my journey into game development. With that said, I'd also like to thank the organizers of the Finally Finish Something Game Jam (#FFSjam) for creating an event that helped me get the motivation I needed to overcome my insecurities and actually start making something.
So, what is Project Firstborn? Project Firstborn is my first attempt at making a game, a horror game to be precise. The content in the video is still very early development and nowhere near representative of the intended final product. I have always been deeply inspired by the Silent Hill franchise, I don't want to copy them though. I just need their essence in order to create a game as a form of journaling or some sort of over-complicated journal entry. That's what Project Firstborn is, it's an attempt to create a game as an alternative to writing in a journal about my experiences with mental health. In this game, you will get to see things through the mind of someone with severe depression and social anxiety. You will get to see things through the mind of a suicide survivor.
