The HP G2 dock SUCKS! 5½ reasons why you shouldn't buy one..
There are 5½ things that I think suck about the HP G2 dock;
1. The cable to the laptop is stiff & awkward to route.
2. The top button is all-to-easy to press by accident.
3. It could do with more USB ports.. 2 on the back is not enough!
3.5 The LED on the back is quite bright & needed to be covered up if it's in a bedroom home office. This is my 1/2 point, since it's easy to cover the LED up with a bit of tape ;)
4 Even when the laptop is off, there’s a fan inside the dock which turns on periodically (but regularly).. it’s very quiet, but still annoying. When the laptop is on, you end up with 2 fans going.. one on the laptop, and one on the dock!
5 It's expensive at £215!
Maybe I'm missing something, but I feel like a cheap USB-C hub is far better value for money, and doesn't have any of the downsides I've listed above. What do you think?
