The CSA (Catalytic Stripper Accessory) upgrades the DMS500 to measure only the solid particles - ideal for research & development into meeting Euro 6 or Euro 7 legislation. The industry leading time response of the DMS500 is not compromised by the CSA or sampling and dilution system - the time to respond to a transient is just 300 ms, with 10 Hz data, making it by far the fastest response system to measure solid particle size & number from engines. A rapid transit time in the sample line keeps the solid particle losses low - these are automatically corrected for in software.
The CSA utililises the DMS500's in-built 2-stage dilution system - proven in the field for 18 years. A low minimum dilution of just a factor of 5 means that good sensitivity is maintained even for modern cleaner engines.
Roll-offs of 23 nm or 10 nm (i.e. sub-23 nm) are selectable in software to match the homologation equipment ("PMP") required for Euro 6 or Euro 7 respectively - whilst giving a much faster response in order to to precisely pinpoint emissions problems, and the ability to determine the size distribution as well the PN concentration.
