CodeGen has been around for a long time and has grown into a flexible, powerful tool in widespread use that can be used to accelerate development in a wide variety of software development scenarios. While it’s easy to provide repository or method catalog metadata to support code generation, developing the template files that define exactly WHAT is to be created can be the challenging part. This practical session walks you through the process of creating template files. Steve covers the basics, as well as some more advanced features. In addition to creating a few templates from scratch, Steve also highlights some commonly used templates from environments such as Harmony Core and SQL replication.

Steve has worked as a technical consultant and trainer for Synergex since 1997, developing e-commerce applications and helping companies maximize their vertical market software applications. Steve has experience with networking, building, and managing internet connections and with security firewall solutions. He is proficient in several programming languages and has been involved in the development of internet and intranet e-business software applications. Prior to coming to Synergex, during his 15-year tenure at CCAT (now Phoenix), Steve became an expert in the installation, upgrade, and support of operating systems, layered products, networks, and application software.
