No Good Deed-- Lavender Eyes
This song is from the musical Wicked, and is originally about Elphaba, the 'Wicked Witch' trying to protect Fiyero, whom she loves, from being killed and hurt as they interrogate him in a cornfield. She wishes for a way to save him, and is able to transform him into a scarecrow so he feels no pain and cannot die.
The theme of this song, "No good deed goes unpunished" really relfects the Queen and Ambroses' lives. Ambrose tries to save the OZ by thwarting Azkadelia, but in the end Azkedelia removes his brain. Lavender Eyes ressurects DG, but it only results in her losing all her power, leaving her unable to fight back against Azkadeila and protect Ambrose. And as if losing her powers weren't enough, she also has to send DG away along with her husband so Azkadelia will never know that her sister is alive.
I thought Lavender Eyes would be a good substitute for the 'wicked witch' because, obviously, Azkadelia couldn't give a crap about what happens to Glitch/Ambrose. And, of course, I had to use Glitch in place of Fiyero because Fiyero represented the Scarecrow in Wicked, just as Glitch represents the Scarecrow in Tin Man.
I don't own Tin Man, Wicked, the song, or the actors (which kinda sucks...)
