MTR - A glimpse of the site of Tung Chung East
The future Tung Chung East Station will be situated between Sunny Bay and Tung Chung, located near Ying Tung Estate, to cater for expansions of housing estates in the Tung Chung area. This is part of the Tung Chung Line extension, which is expected to open in 2029. At the same time, the line will be extended to the new terminus of Tung Chung West.
PSA 📢: On October 26, Tung Chung Line service will end early at around 11pm for the section between Sunny Bay and Tung Chung to facilitate the track bifurcation work at Tung Chung East. After that time, trains will run as per normal up until Sunny Bay and passengers will be required to connect to free replacement buses to continue to Tung Chung. Airport Express services are unaffected by this arrangement.
