This season - in February 2016 - we travel with a team of good friends to Kyrgyzstan.
But basically this trip began in February 2014 - in Uzbekistan. This debut and the experience for the first time with an antique Russian MI-8 helicopter in the mountains of Central Asia to surf totally virgin powder slopes, was simply incomparable. No wonder that the humorous and bizarre movie clip, which we then produced about our experiences, struck the Internet and the Freeride-nerds like a Russian cruise missile. It was quite logical that we traveled in 2015 again to Uzbekistan in the mountains of the Tian-Shan to have exactly the same fun and to make a second part of this movie clip - just a little more quirky and a little more crazy, of course. At this 2015 second Uzbekistan trip we had it all: At the beginning snowfall days in the mountains, Bluebird immediately afterwards, a great travel group, a lot of vodka and parties with the locals. Only one thing – the most important one - we did not have: flight time with the MI-8 helicopter to enjoy the powder in front of our doorstep. The thick flying thing, because we had traveled to Uzbekistan, was not allowed to take off. Heli-skiing did not take place. The competent authority in Tashkent made a fool of us and refused the Heli flight permission for two weeks. We could not go into the air. That was the worst ordeal for a long time. The reason: The top bosses oft the country and the uzbek guardians of morals were horrified by our last year's video clip, because there was a long-haired blond lady shown in ski-underwear dancing pretty sexy inside the helicopter. The uzbek authorities really had no sense of fun. Since that time we have renamed Uzbekistan in Absurdistan.
But we did not give up! One year later we motivate and restart again. In February 2016 we were on the third attempt in direction to the mountains of Central Asia. Of course, Uzbekistan had died for us as a destination. Our new goal was Kyrgyzstan. And that was exactly the right decision.
It is difficult to put the Kyrgyzstan-trip, which is now behind us, into words. Probably we needed - similar to a cocaine intoxication - a few weeks to realize what a unique adventure was given to us. An exotic journey, a lot of Powder in the vast, unspoiled and up to 5,000 meter high mountain ranges of the kyrgyz Tian Shan and very good snow conditions and terrain. By the way, we had the best helicopter pilot of the universe and of course we produced the long-awaited part two of our movie clip. At the end, we found paradise. Have fun with the movie clip!
