No. 1-
Single leg training is ESSENTIAL for all for runners. Not only does it provide much needed strength and stability but it also increases leg drive and stride efficiency. Every minute you’re running you’re on one leg, so doesn’t it make sense to build strength and stability there?
No. 2-
Plyometrics are possibly the most neglected of the essential runner’s exercises. People assume you do plyometric training just to jump hire when in reality, it’s one of the most effective ways to bulletproof your lower body joints. Make Maasai hops part of your regular routine and you won’t regret it.
No. 3-
Multidirectional training is one of the runner’s biggest tools. The body is designed to move in all directions, yet as a runner you will spend all of your time moving forward in a straight line. This inevitably creates balances in your muscles and movements patterns, making chronic pain and injuries inevitable in the long term.
