Saving space with a super-thin lens!
Brightin Star's new 28mm f/2.8 lens is so thin it makes an M-mount camera almost pocketable. I gave it a try in a cramped Amtrak roomette to see whether the compact build compromises handling.
[8/4/2023] QUICK COMPATIBILITY UPDATE: The lens fits comfortably on the Pixii and I assume it also will fit on all the Leica M models listed on Funleader's product-info page [https://myfunleader.com/products/funl...]. BUT I've found that when mounted on a Cosina Bessa-type camera (such as my Bessa R3m and Epson R-D1, which uses a Cosina chassis) it may not focus to infinity. The rangefinder coupling arm on these cameras has a light shield around it, and when approaching infinity, the rear element housing of the lens rubs slightly against this shield. It doesn't prevent focusing to infinity, but I can definitely feel it drag. The amount of interference is small, so some cameras may be affected less than others, and the drag may be slight enough not to bother some users, but it's worth noting if you're considering this lens.
