Hello there!
I've come to realize that my Mac is virtually teeming with Disco Diffusion folders, brimming with images and... settings.txt files.
With the assistance of ChatGPT, I was able to craft a Python script that gathered all the prompts and organized them into a .csv file. Following this, I modified my Kandinsky Colab fork (you can check it out here: https://colab.research.google.com/dri...) to produce "n" images for each prompt listed.
Link seems dead. Here's Kandinsky 3: https://colab.research.google.com/dri...
I made over 2000 images, of which I handpicked 1460 to create this slideshow, showcasing one image per second. I utilized Shortcuts on my Mac to inscribe the filename (the prompt) onto the top left corner of every image.
I've watched the domains of Stable Diffusion and Midjourney gradually inching toward perfection, while Controlnet and LORAs have given us more and more control. However, I've always preferred to tread a different path.
I find beauty in errors and create these images for the sheer joy of surprise and for sparking ideas. I batch!
I'm a firm believer that traditional artists and writers could leverage these technologies to uncover novel ideas about lighting, composition, and even elements of storytelling. Some images are inspiring, right? I often wonder: "What is happening here?".
Thus, in this slideshow, you'll encounter the usual 'double faces' owing to the large format, some occasional lapses in anatomy, and a few less-than-perfect paintings (haha). But, it's also teeming with an array of intriguing locales and fantastical creatures, wouldn't you agree?
It feels as if Kandinsky V2.1 was akin to "Stable Diffusion 1.6". And of course, as these prompts hail from the 'prehistoric' era of Disco Diffusion (circa 2022!), you'll find a generous dose of "Greg Rutkowski" and the popular 'trending on Artstation' in prompts.
Should an image catch your fancy, pause the video and take note of the prompt!
I continue to traverse this world, exploring the ways in which ChatGPT can be of assistance, over on my Patreon. A single month's subscription will grant you access to all my archives.
Enjoy the journey!
