Polit Affairs - The term "American new Middle East" was used only a few times by US officials in recent 20 years, but used in very special occasions and places, to show how really Washington wanted to change the face of this region. This was a part of the new world order which US sought from earlier 90s after the collapse of Soviet Union.

The term “New Middle East” was introduced to the world in June 2006 in Tel Aviv by U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in replacement of the older and more imposing term, the “Greater Middle East.” some countries in the Region including Iran, have a very doubtful image of this plan. You may have seen many reports and analysis on this topic in western Media, but its worth to to see how events and military confrontations in this region is seen from middle eastern capitals, which draw a totally different concept and understanding. here we are not going to approve either point of view. you can judge the reality, by comparing this opinion with the one mostly reviewed by the media.

Based on this Idea, in short, US at the Time wanted to change many borders in Middle East and to make it something like this.

This project, which has been in the planning stages for several years, consists in creating an arc of instability, chaos, and violence extending from Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria to Iraq, the Persian Gulf, Iran, and the borders of Afghanistan.

Zbigniew Brzezinski a former U.S. National Security Advisor also admitted this plan in a broader view. he wrote in his book The Grand Chessboard: American Primacy and Its Geo-strategic Imperatives, alluded to the modern Middle East as a control lever of an area he, calls the Eurasian Balkans. The Eurasian Balkans consists of the Caucasus (Georgia, the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Armenia) and Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan) and to some extent both Iran and Turkey. Iran and Turkey both form the northernmost tiers of the Middle East that edge into Europe and the former Soviet Union.

General Wesley Clark former commander of US European forces once said that White House after invasion of Afghanistan planned to overthrow 7 Islamic governments, starting from Iraq, Lebanon, Syria and ending with Iran.

So based on this plan, US wanted to infiltrate's in Central Asia after the middle East to also have control over Russia's near abroad.

The following map was prepared by Lieutenant-Colonel Ralph Peters. It was published in the Armed Forces Journal in June 2006, Peters is a retired colonel of the U.S. National War Academy. (Map Copyright Lieutenant-Colonel Ralph Peters 2006).

While Americans believe that this new map could solve many inequalities and is better for this region. The first thing that comes to my mind is that this is exactly on the contrary because many religious and race minorities are still not taken into account in this map. so even if it really happens, there will be many more new wars and confrontations in this region. some borders are drawn based on religion and some based on nationality and race. this seems to be a wrong mixture.

So the Iranian idea (which includes opinion of all Shia and Iran supporters in the region specially militias, which are a considerable number), despite American view, most of conflicts and wars in this region originate from the US-Israeli strategies and even a negative role of Britain. and Tehran also believes that it has played the main role in failure of the new middle east plan.

This is the way Tehran sees all events in recent 2 decades:

Iran has helped many governments in this region to withstand US plans for the changes to form New Middle East. from Afghanistan and Iraq, to Syria, Lebanon and Yemen. So now the US, which was not able to go on with this plan,

In this context, Tehran sees its self not only the savior of its own borders against the Western plans, but also the protector of all other states in this region.

What US goes after, at the same time can and can not approve this plans. but in the end of the day, it is also important to know how their opponent sees thing? right or wrong!
