Winterizing a Volvo Penta 5.7 boat engine - pulling the drain plugs
Winterizing my Volvo Penta 5.7 boat engine in my Four Winns Horizon. This was my first time attempting to winterize my Volvo sterndrive or inboard/outboard marine engine, and it wasn't easy or quick. In this video I share what I went through and what steps I took to winterize the engine. I do not cover the complete winterization of the boat in this video because there are so many steps just to properly do the engine! If you're learning how to winterize your boat motor, please do lots of research here on YouTube, Internet forums, and consult manuals. I couldn't believe how many different approaches there are to winterizing an I/O engine.
I also discuss the appropriate marine anti-freeze for engines and challenges of using the camco boat winterizer kit on older volvo penta marine engines.
