hello batteries, i officially graduated from college yesterday! due to the pandemic, it was announced in april that we won't have an in-person ceremony anymore but my school organized a virtual one (although it took so long lmao it's 2021) and this is my batch's graduation song!
it's such an honor to have written, composed, and produced this for my batch since i've always wanted to write a graduation song since high school with my band but when we found out that a song was already submitted, we brushed it off lol. and now my dream has come true! i remember writing this one afternoon in february while i was waiting for my friend in our radio booth--i was scribbling lyrics on my notebook and fiddling the keyboard on garageband, excited from the thought of batch 2020 singing my song. tbh the lyrics didn't take long to write, i just had to look back on everything we've experienced in the past 4 years and the words came naturally. personally, the melody isn't the best but i had to write a simple one so it could be easily memorized by everyone; i didn't want to burden my batch with learning such a hard song on top of practices (if there wasn't a pandemic). but i think its simplicity is what makes it stick to people's minds; an easy tune is sometimes a catchy one. and tbh i was kinda rusty bc it's been so long since the last song i wrote lol. but yeah... i'm happy that i still heard (some of) my batchmates sing this (*˘︶˘*).｡.:*♡
