Biography :
Formed in September 1992 in Nowy Sącz, formerly known as Happy Dead. The first line-up featured guitarist Piotr Szeliga, keyboardist Sebastian Piech and drummer Marek Głuc. Shortly afterwards, bassist Radosław joined them.
In March 1993, Radosław was given his walking papers, while a second-guitarist, Piotr Szeliga was incorporated. In June, the band suspended its activities until December, when lead vocalist Wojciech Papciak was introduced. They changed their name to Wintershadows at the time.
In January 1994, the band started working on new material. The same month, violinist Anna Soloraczyk collaborated with the group – she was later replaced by Ewa Fijak.
In February 1995, they headed into the Gamma Studio in Kraków, where they recorded their debut demo Arrakis, released through Croon Records. The same year, the band parted ways with Papciak.
