Eastern Tropical Pacific Killer Whales in San Diego at Sunset!
On Wednesday August 28th, captains Erica, Kyle, and Dom spent a beautiful late summer day exploring the extended waters around San Diego in the hopes of finding some new hot spots that might be reachable for our extended-style tours with Gone Whale Watching San Diego(www.gonewhalewatching). We love adding longer trips to our schedule during the late summer and fall, because that is when we usually have our best weather and sea conditions!
Towards the end of the afternoon, we received reports from local fishing boats about the possibility of a pod of Orcas being in the area. After a few more hours of searching, we connected with the Orcas near the US/Mexico border and were treated to an absolutely gorgeous sunset as we watched them slowly swim to the south.
