Made by JHS, which is a UK company started in Yorkshire by John Hornby Skewes in the 1960s, not to be confused with JHS Pedals founded in 2007 in America by Joshua Heath Scott.
Made in Japan this unit uses Bucket Brigade chips to produce warm crusty delays similar to a tape echo like a Roland Space Echo, but at a fraction of the costs and with far less maintenance required.
These units gained popularity in the 80s before being superseded by early digital technology but now they are becoming sought after again as people search for ways to add much-needed life to "in-the-box" productions made purely with plug-ins.
Although there are some modern BBD devices, very few use the quality of components used in these 1980s devices, which is causing the price for these second-hand units to go up.
