Studio Acoustics: Identify Problem Frequencies In Your Audio Studio using the Bass Staircase Test.
Are the acoustics of your studio letting down your music? Improving the sound of your room needn't cost much and pays dividends in better recordings and more transportable mixes.
The Bass Staircase Test is of a stepped sequence of ascending sine wave notes over the bottom three octaves.
When in the listening position in your studio, play it at normal monitoring levels. In a good room the levels should sound even across the range. Obviously loud or quiet notes indicate problem frequencies that you'll need to address.
