Hosakki Pooja performed at Saginabettu House.
Hosakki (rice from the first harvest of this year) Pooja performed at Saginabettu House. This pooja is organised by the residents of Saginabettu House, my ancestoral home, which is around 4 kms away from Moodabidri Town, which itself is 30 kms away from Mangaluru, Karnataka, India.
Here a priest is not called and one of the male head of the family performs the pooja along with the other female heads and other members of the family. This is done to celebrate the first harvest of the rice.
