Which is the BEST form of Deoxys? How to Use ALL forms of Deoxys in Pokémon Masters EX
Let’s start out with “Try This!”
Once you use “Try This”, Deoxys will turn the field of play’s terrain into Psychic Terrain. This is great as there are only a few sync pairs such as Bianca & Marshana and SS May & Latias that can change the field into Psychic Terrain to power up psychic moves and activate certain sync grid effects. This trainer move also raises the users Defense, Sp. Attack, Sp. Def and Speed by two stat ranks. This is a great start to just wanting to use the Normal form of Deoxys without any major quirks and major changes to it’s own stats. Some of the user’s moves and passive skills are all replaced with different moves and passive skills when using this trainer move.
Let’s take a look at the Passive Skills in this form.
In the normal form after “Try This”, Passive Skills are Downside Up (which all Deoxys forms have), Fuel Economy 1 and Aggravation 2. Downside up raises the users stats by the same amount when the user’s stats would be lowered. So a move like Psycho Boost usually lowers your Sp. Attack by two stages yet your Sp. Attack will increase by two stages after using the move. Fuel Economy 1 reduces the move gauge bar by 1. For example, the cost for Psycho Boost has been reduced to 3 bars instead of the original 4 bars. The last passive skill, aggravation 2, raises the chance of inflicting the flinching, confused, or trapped condition. This is specifically for the physical psychic attack Zen Headbutt because you can land plenty of flinches to prevent the opponent’s Pokemon from using their moves.
Next we have the Attack form after using the trainer move “Attack!”
Once you use “Attack!”, Deoxys’s Special Attack and critical-hit rate will be maxed out! This is a great way to quickly give Deoxys all it needs to use powerful moves with greater damage and without relying on a support to another sync pair to help max these stats.
Let’s take a look at the Passive Skills in this form.
The Passive Skills are Downside Up, Expanded Sync and Power Chain 2. You already know what Downside up does from the normal form so I’m going to move on to the Expanded Sync passive skill. Have you ever wanted a tech sync pair to hit all your opponents at once? Good news is Deoxys has this passive skill called Expanded Sync which hits all opponents’s Pokémon with its sync move. YES, ALL OPPONENTS! It’s like Pokemon Masters gave Deoxys this extra route to be a striker in 6-star EX form, without having to be in it’s EX form! Pretty cool, huh? Not only that, but Power Chain 2 has the chance to increase both the user’s Physical moves up and Special Moves up next effect by one stat rank when a move is successful. For example, you can continue to use cosmic power and have the chance to increase those effects. When the time is right, you can use psycho boost, zen headbutt or use your sync move to attack all opponents!
Next is Speed from.
Once you use the trainer move “Faster!” the sync move countdown is immediately reduced by two. It also raises the user’s speed stat by six stat stages and the user’s evasiveness by three stages. This form is all about getting to the sync move as fast as possible. And knowing this, you can quickly set up your 6-star Support to use it’s sync move to grant a sync double buff early during battle. This opens up many doors to quickly have a fast setup to get to the point of your team’s strategy.
Just like in the previous forms, Speed form has the passive skill Downside Up. The only two new passive skills are Afflicter’s fervor 2 and Catalytic Infliction. Afflicter’s Fervor 2 reduces the sync move countdown by two the first time the user’s Pokemon uses a status move each battle. Catalytic Infliction also activates when Deoxys uses a status move, which quickly charges up the move gauge for a certain amount of time via Move Gauge Acceleration.
Finally, the Defense form of Deoxys.
Once you use the trainer move “Defend!” All your allied Pokemon’s Attack and Special Attack stats are increased by four stages. I said FOUR! That’s two stages away from max stats! In addition, the Damage Guard Next Effect is activated. This is pretty much Protect from the Attack form of Deoxys but without taking up space to be in the moveset. Again, in all the previous forms, Defense form has the passive skill Downside Up. The only two new passive skills are Stat Share 9 and Team Mind-Bracing Infliction+ 9. Stat Share 9 occurs when a status move is used by Deoxys, raising the Pokemon and all the allied sync pairs’ stats by the same amount. In addition, Team Mind-Bracing Infliction+ 9 raises the special defense of all allied sync pairs by two stat ranks when the user’s Pokemon uses a status move.
