Nickelodeon UK clips (c.20/12/95)
Sarah Cawood is on presenting duty at the Nickelodeon studios for the usual links, promos, calls, and faxes. A handful of ads, too, but I'm afraid I've had to edit out the showings of Rugrats, Clarissa Explains It All, and Nancy Drew - though at least I can leave in the last couple of minutes of TeckNICK, featuring a very young Nigel Mitchell. Broadcast date seems to be around 20th December 1995, as one of the callers says it's the day before his school breaks up for the holidays.
Speaking of the phone-in, the subject for the day is about how to beat the Boxing Day blues, and Tessa, Steven, Carl, Lena, and Stuart all come up with good ways. Shezzy, though, says something about writing poems backwards (I think), which sounds like a great set-up for a punchline that never comes. I was baffled by that one, but it's all good fun.
Other things of note include everything about the Nickelottery (including viewer Chloe reading out the winning numbers), Otis the Aardvark promoting the relatively short-lived Children's BBC on Nickelodeon, and Sarah's "Single Girl" T-shirt. I wonder if there's a story there.
