From Bushfires to Pandemic - Composed by David Hole, performed by Michael MacManus
I'm really proud of our composition student David Hole who has written this brilliant piece titled "2020 - From Bushfires to Pandemic", a reflection of our year so far.
What is even more incredible is that David had never written a piece of music before in his life!
He joined our Introduction to Composition 4 week live course in July and enjoyed it so much he then signed up for our more advanced course "A Piece to call your own" which ran the following month in August.
These courses were taught by Dr Daniel Nistico, and are aimed towards classical guitarists from approx grade 3 AMEB performance standard and above. We have also had harpists, pianists and woodwind players join these courses! So you don't necessarily have to play guitar to participate.
The teaching method Daniel uses is just extraordinary, and his ability to break down the composition process with a proven and effective 4 step method, has enabled hundreds of students to write their first ever compositions.
