NATURE DOCS. This house, which is cracking so dramatically, is far from the only one in France. It's due to a phenomenon with a rather barbaric name: the shrinkage and swelling of clay soils. In France, more than half of all houses are already exposed to this phenomenon, perhaps even near you. For those affected, it can cause significant stress and potentially costly, and not always effective, repairs. Our journalist Florian Thomas met with Lamine Ighil Ameur, a researcher who is trying to understand these cracks and find solutions. So, why are more and more houses cracking? And is there anything that can be done about it? That's what Lucas wanted to find out.
