This GibbsCAM Tech Tip shows you how to manage the size of your part files to maximize GibbsCAM’s performance.
If it’s taking a long time to save your GibbsCAM part files, or if the file size is large, it may be due to the history tree for your solid model. Learn how to speed up part navigation and free up hard drive space with this month’s tech tip.
Every step in creating a solid model is saved in a history tree so that you can go back and make a change at any point in the process. Great for flexibility, but it can lead to large files and slow reaction time.
Once your solid model is exactly the way you want it, you can delete the history tree, dramatically reducing the file size, speeding up part manipulation, and saving hard drive space.
