I came across this spreading creeping bentgrass in my cool season lawn. I noticed this after I cut low at 2" in preps for my fall lawn care program - dethatching, bio stims, seeding and fertilizer.

This is a perennial cool season grassy weed that is often used for golf courses, and tennis lawns for its dense, soft feel. Very seldom used for existing lawns, due to its high maintenance. It does require frequent irrigation, aeration, dethatching, and many fungicide applications, especially in the summer time, when there is less rain and more drought.

Identification factors: Spongy, soft, dense feel, with vigorous spreading stolons and short root systems, flat leaves, etc. Definitely stands out amongst other grass blends and will begin to take over if not removed.
Can use some applications of tenacity, or glyphosate, but will need to be removed completely.
